ONE Neighborhood Works

ONE Neighborhood Works is a social enterprise landscaping program that employs a crew of four 18-24 year-olds for one year periods of paid work and job counseling. As the ONE Neighborhood Works crew carries out landscaping contracts, they  gain valuable landscaping skills and experience. They also receive career counseling through a partnership with the Providence Youth Center.

ONE Neighborhood Works, ONE Neighborhood Builders’ landscaping social enterprise, was launched in June 2012. ONE Neighborhood Works is comprised of a full-time manager and four part-time job training participants.  Through competitively bid and awarded contracts, ONE Neighborhood Works maintains ONE NB’s housing portfolio. This earned-income work allows us dedicate 30-60% of our time to pro-bono commercial district maintenance in Olneyville Square and along the Elmwood Avenue commercial corridor– picking up litter, removing graffiti, watering hanging flower baskets, and generally demonstrating that the area is safe and vibrant.

Testimonials:

“We have happily worked with ONE Neighborhood Works for three years now. While landscaping over 40 properties for us, their commitment to customer satisfaction make them a great choice.”
—Carmen Soriano, First Realty Management

“ONE Neighborhood Works is certainly making a difference in Olneyville Square. They are keeping the street and sidewalks clean, keeping graffiti off the bus stops, and beautifying the area with plants and flowers. Most importantly, seeing them at work every day is a welcome reminder that people care about Olneyville.”
